~Yarn Along~

Gosh, it’s been a while since I’ve yarned along. I made this cute little Little Jenny Wren Pinafore eek, so cute!

I used some very lovely yarn from Brambleberry Yarns,this yarn is English Rose. Isn’t it beautiful? I loved knitting each row, watching as the color softly changes from one to the next. It is so pretty and soft. As I am looking at this yarn I can smell lavender. Cynthia tucked in a little sachet of lavender in among the yarns.

I hope to have time to make my next doll. I have one in mind that I really want to bring to life.

I saw my first hummingbird on April 1oth. I was so happy. I haven’t seen another one since, but it won’t be long until they are flitting about.

I found a bok choy. What? I don’t know how it got in this pot, but whatever. I will use it in soup or stir fry.

Ok, the red salvia has turned white. I don’t know why. I think it’s time to cut it back and let it start over. It is pretty with the white rose.

This spring I have seen so many plants come up that I not only forgot about, but it’s been years since I have seen them. Like this clematis. Tucked in among Old Blush rose. Pretty.

This beautiful new butterfly landed right by my feet. I love how perfect the wings are.

This wild rose was grown from a seed. I love this rose, so fragrant. I love it with this deutzia shrub. I love how the blooms combine.

Maggie an old garden rose. Maybe a bourbon rose? Smells so good!

It was a cold and gray day that ended with warm and beautiful sun. I was so happy to be able to get out to walk about the garden.

~Baby Quilt done~

Yay, it is in the wash getting all snuggly and warm even as I type this. I finished last weekend and had just the binding left to go. What a long week of work but I was able to finish it up yesterday evening. I am so glad to have this done. I miss making quilts. It’s been a while and I really miss the process of making them, the end product is always so worth the time!

I have many ideas and plans to make more, but you know how that goes.

For this quilt I used the Lil Twister Pinwheel tool. It was fun! I have made a pinwheel quilt before but this tool makes it faster and worry free. I really enjoyed the process. I had 2 Good Fortune charm pack’s from Pink Chalk Fabrics which comes with a coordinating stack of solids. This is just enough fabric to make a baby quilt (along with extra yardage for piecing the front and back .)

I free motioned the baby’s name and birth date on the front for a fun alternative. Here it is pre-wash. I will be so anxious to see it once dried. I will post a picture of it when it’s done in the wash.
