There is something so precious about a bishop dress. I LOVE them. My goal is to learn how to smock and pleat..insert shudder… Oh Lord.  Maybe one day, but in the meantime I will make bishop dress’. I  used The Scientific Scientist Bebop Bishop Pattern.  I love the small print of this Densyse Schmidt Croquet fabric.  My buttonholer gave me fits and I had to scrap the buttons. I made buttonholes  The Old Fashioned Baby way. Oh me, nerve wracking. They are not perfect, but they will do I suppose.  The sweater is  The Vine Lace Cardi.  I love, love, love this sweater. All we need are a pair of mary- janes and a pair of tights and a baby.   ~ Swoon~

~knitting for little ones~
It’s been so long since my last yarn along! So happy to have a little more time to knit and for a baby no less, my favorite kind of projects!!

The Pebble pattern this pattern is quick and easy. I love the design of this pattern. Knit all in one, from the bottom up and finishing off at the shoulders. It was interesting. I have never knit a pattern constructed this way and that made this pattern ever more fun.

DSC_0076 I love the button band on the right side. The wooden buttons just really make this little vest shine. I can’t wait to see baby Finn in this. So cute.

I hope it fits!

I love winter!

~Let Me Sit and Knit~

I love the time when I can just sit and knit. Early in the morning or often late at night. All is quiet and the house is calm. There is time to sit and be still while keeping my hands busy.  It takes me a long time to finish my knitting projects, but I do eventually finish. I always have a project tucked away in my knitting bag.  I have a long list of projects “to do” and I am satisfied with my plans. If I could do everything I want to do right now, then what would I have to look forward to? I do not want to have everything done “right now.” Anticipation and planning. Hoping and waiting. Dreaming. It’s a good thing, this exercise in patience, right?

~Yarn Along~

Gosh, it’s been a while since I’ve yarned along.  I made this cute little Little Jenny Wren Pinafore eek, so cute!

I used some very lovely yarn from Brambleberry Yarns, this yarn is English Rose. Isn’t it beautiful?  I loved knitting each row, watching as  the color softly changes from one to the next. It is so pretty and soft.  As I am looking at this yarn I can smell lavender. Cynthia tucked in a little sachet of lavender in among the yarns.

I hope to have time to make my next doll. I have one in mind that I really want to bring to life.

Joining Ginny this week.

Joining Ginny this week…

Not too much knitting going on here, I have been working diligently making my daughter her new doll. Her birthday is Tuesday and I am running out of time.

We’ll see, I seem to work best under pressure. On my needles I have the Poppy Sweater pattern, this is going to be a great sweater. I love the yarn and the pattern. I am so close to done..

I just need a few more hours in the day.. don’t we all??

~ A little peek~

I am planning on taking Friday off so I can really spend some time with this little one. I think she is going to be cute! I hope :)

Joining Jenny in her Yarn Along post’s.

I am so happy to be able to report that I have completed the cute little blue doll sweater. My gosh, it is so cute and cozy. You can see the pattern and information on the Ravelry link.

This week, I am still on doll clothes. My daughter’s birthday is quickly coming up and she has informed me that she wants a waldorf doll with red hair and green eyes. She also would like her doll to have some clothes that look like school clothes, a grey sweater, blue skirt, a white shirt. Yes, of course so, a grey sweater is on the needles. This time I am working on this pattern, and I am trying to remember this yarn, the tag has been lost.. I believe it is Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed Yarn. I think.

I am also working on another pair of baby booties, or dolly shoes. I just love this pattern it is most definitely my go to pattern.

I am on the hunt for a slipper pattern that my grandmother used to make for making our slippers. It was a simple pattern that always had a pom pom on the end of it. I know I’ve seen such patterns, but I need to spend some time finding the right one. I think that would just go perfect with my little nightie. Maybe something like this or this is really cute too.

As far as reading.. I need to gather some books this weekend and perhaps make a new tote, I have jury duty all next week. I am not sure how I feel about all of that, but I know I have to do my civic duty. There is a long list of what you can not bring, so I believe I will be reading quite a bit. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading..

Joining Jenny today…

Still working on my little blue sweater. Just the sleeves to go. I am so slow :(

I just need to bind off and start the sleeves. Maybe tonight?? maybe.

Took a little time to make a cute little mouse: love. So cute. I guess it took part of an afternoon. She is so very cute, if I say so myself! Pattern link here~ Marisol a knitted mouse~

I have some new projects in the que that I want to start on, so many lovely things but these are on my mind right now.

shawl pattern and so are you so cute!

and look at this beautiful sweater, oh my Gnarled Oak Cardigan This is a for sure. Love it.

Reading: my grandma’s books. She gives them to me and I read a little before bed each night. It’s like my nightcap. Slows my mind down for a really good sleep!

What are you working on??

One more..

~Yarn Along~

Joining Jenny for her Yarn Along. I love to check out all of the post’s to see what everyone is making. I am always looking for new inspiration, aren’t you ??

This week I am still working on my little blue sweater, see previous post as to what I’ve been doing.. there is only so much time in a day, you know?

I can’t wait to finish this sweater, it is so soft, but I want to share a few other things.

Like this Bunny, it’s a Barbara Prime Patten, the Well Dressed Bunny.  I have made quite a few of these, you can see some more on my my Ravelry page. She is so generous, you can sell them, give them to charity, which is what I did for Bama Bound Quilts. I made the Bunny, Tabby Kitty and the Lamb. These patterns are really, really cute. Anyway, you can find more information on her page. I used a very very soft alpaca, I wish I could remember the brand, it was on sale at Webs. Ugh. It’s not coming to me right now. For the dress, it’s also a Barbara Prime pattern..Girl Monkey Dress. I used Brooklyn Tweed’s new yarn.. Loft. It is so very fine, yet rugged. I love the colors..

Lastly, if you knit for dolls, you might like this. I have made several different ones of this patter, A Simple Shrug Pattern,
it’s also quick and easy. It’s for personal use only and I really like it. Here is my latest, minus the button and unblocked~
I have some pretty pink and green fabric, maybe for a dress and ruffled jeans, or a peasant dress.  I think it will be cute. This is leftover Spud and Chloe Sweater yarn. Love that yarn.  What have you been working on?

For reading, I am on Marry Higgins Clark, Nighttime is my Time a guy named “Owl” is about to do some bad things. Also, re-reading The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters. I really like this book, I checked it out from the library as many times as was allowed, and I think I incurred a late fee for it, but it was so worth it. I went ahead and purchased it. I have made many recipes from it, pasta noodles, pizza dough, Minestrone (has seasonal versions), potato and leek soup. YUM.

~Yarn Along~

I’m excited again to join Jenny again for her  Yarn Along. So fun looking at all of the projects.  This week I read The Shop on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber I loved this one. I love to read about knitting and there is plenty in this book! On my nightstand you will also find this Remembering Adelia: Quilts Inspired by her Diary.

As far knitting, I’m done with the little yellow vest. It’s cute. Too big.. I should have gone a few needle size’s. I knew that, but didn’t do it. Ugh. Cotton is not my favorite yarn. Too stretchy. I love the pattern, it is so quick and easy. I will try again in wool.

This week I am working on this Acadia pattern I love it so far. So cute!I am using a wool bamboo yarn. It’s so soft.

Can’t wait to see all the other projects!
