It’s been so long since my last yarn along! So happy to have a little more time to knit and for a baby no less, my favorite kind of projects!!

The Pebble pattern this pattern is quick and easy. I love the design of this pattern. Knit all in one, from the bottom up and finishing off at the shoulders. It was interesting. I have never knit a pattern constructed this way and that made this pattern ever more fun.

 I love the button band on the right side. The wooden buttons just really make this little vest shine. I can’t wait to see baby Finn in this. So cute.

~I love winter. I love winter especially on the weekends when I don’t have to go out. I love staying in my flannel pj’s and lazing about.

I love winter!

Clearly I hope for the same things each year. Health and happiness for myself and my family. I always yearn for more time to do the things I need to do and to do the things I want to do. I want to achieve balance in my work and free time. I want to prioritize my obligations and still have time to be creative. I want to be a good wife and a good mom.

I want to nurture my spirituality, my health, and my creativity and that of  my family.

Wishing you the best 2013 and that it will be all that you need it to be.

I can’t even tell you how happy I am with this quilt. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Cozy and warm. Crinkly and cozy. The colors make me happy.  I love using linen in quilts but it is not always easy but no matter, I  still turn to it for the texture it brings to the quilt.

I can not take any credit for the color or quilting choices in this design of Anna Maria Horner’s Spinning Stars, I shamelessly copied hers. Look halfway down the page. When I first saw this it was love at first sight. Shamelessly I set out to make my own version because it makes me happy. I hope you don’t mind.. hee hee.

I haven’t done any hand quilting since I made the Heather Ross quilt, I forgot how fun it is. I am already planning my next quilt that I will also do hand quilting on. I think this is my new love. It really adds a personal dimension to the quilt.

It’s so funny because the bug bite me awhile ago to make this quilt. I love the look of hand quilting on this quilt . I plan to do hand-quilting on my baby quilt as well. Here is a really good tutorial on hand quilting.

So fun, and for once a quilt along I can really get with. Yes!

~The new puppy needed a soft place to lay while inside her crate. With so many dogs it is easy for her to become overwhelmed. Also she is in the chewing puppy stage. She likes to grab whatever she can and destroy. So, a crate/kennel was needed. I couldn’t just let her lay on the hard plastic, so I dug out a piece of leftover patchwork and added a few pieces, put batting in and finished it with some Perle cotton quilt ties.

~It was soft and cozy~

~A running stitch kept it all nice and contained~

Too bad Annabelle tore it all up, naughty puppy.

Now she has an old cutter quilt in the bottom of her crate.

Yes, wasn’t that just lovely of him?

Each day starts with the ”daily cup.” Everyday. This is coffee with almond milk. Delish. I tried to cut back on my caffeine. I did ok, I am down to 2 cups in the morning. That’s the best I can do and it’s an improvement. I used to drink 3 or 4 cups a day. The last time I went off of caffeine was when I was pregnant 18 years ago and it made me feel not great. If I do try it again it will have to be a slow and gradual process. I do have a really good option when for when I am ready.

This is what I ate for lunch. Corn Chowder. Oh my. It was so good. Made with cashew’s. It was really nice.

~Lastly,here is my dinner. Bacon,lettuce and tomato. You will not believe it if I told you what the “bacon” is. Try to guess. Ok, I will just tell you. Eggplant. Dehydrated for hours. Seriously it did taste like bacon. On Ezekiel 4:9 bread. It was awesome!

This is just a sample of my meals for one day. Every morning starts with a smoothie and snacks of seasonal fruit. I have never felt better. There are so many reason’s to consider a cleanse.  The reason I choose to cleanse was to obtain clarity and to cleanse my body from the inside out. I want to eat food that will nourish my body, not make me sick.  I don’t want my food choices to be the cause of any physical pain and disease.  The goal is to gradually add back different food to determine what works and what doesn’t work for me. The funny thing is that what works for me might be totally opposite of what works for you.

~ saute onion and garlic~

~add fresh corn~

~add a little yellow squash fresh off the vine~

~I love brown eggs, so pretty, beat about 4~

~ gather fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes~

~once the veggies are little sauted  add eggs, top with tomatoes and fresh herbs~

~add fresh grated Havarti cheese, salt and pepper~

~toast wheat bread and top with sunflower sprouts~

~I added a little bit of cheddar~

~serve with a side of fresh fruit  and enjoy~

I love summer time ther are so many good things to eat. I can’t get enough fruits and veggies. I need to power up to finish quilting a queen size quilt. What the heck was I thinking? It’s huge.
