before and after…..

    ~in the beginning 2003 or 2004

  ~Spring of 2008

think it’s too much?

~at least there is no lawn to mow!

~minus the old oak tree it opened  up a large amount of sun growing area..

  ~filled with roses and perennials..

Update: I am a lover of all tree’s, plants and animals. I would never be able to willing cut down a good tree, however our oak tree was planted way too close  to the house and we were getting into trouble with the roots. Also, it was showing signs of decline and suffered a rather severe lightening strike.  We saved the stump and made a planter out of it. And we use the logs left from the trunk as garden stools and accents for a rustic feel through out our garden. It was a difficult decision but unfortunately one we felt we had to make.        ~ here I am using a a piece for a fern stand.

~ here is our cat utilizing a stump for a perch.   I feel we have incorporated our oak into our home and garden even though it was a good tree and it had just run it’s course and was too close to our home.  Unfortunately….

Getting Well and best wishes….

Surprising turn of events…

Mom was rushed to surgery Friday for emergent surgery thanks to a ruptured appendix. It has been very trying for her and us. She is improving everyday but it is going to be a long road back.  Totally doable, but she feels a little low right now. Bless her heart.

On the other side dear hubby is to have a  hernia repair today.. Our fun has only just begun.. When life comes at you fast… I guess you better hang on tight.

Thoughts of love and best wishes to us all..Since I don’t have too many roses blooming now, I have to dig deep into my photo’s from Spring to find some blooms..

Hoping for speedy recoveries and strength through our valley’s.

 New peaks will come….

With grace and courage to continue on our journey.

Where is fall?

It is not here! It is so hot, Look at our temps! It is so dry. We are so low on rain. We spent a good part of the day watering.

Here is my ode to fall that I am eagerly waiting on:

I have taken some artistic liberties with my editing tools!

 Walnut tree looking creepy!

A small grove of trees on the end of our cove.

 Garden rose, Hybrid Musk Prosperity.

 Knockout rose

A little birdy looking for his water bath.

  fall garden scene from 06…

Hope to have some finished projects soon!
