~I should be packing, instead I am on this darn computer~

Only 2 more days until we move back into our house We left in the middle of the night on February 24th and have not been back since. It’s been an incredibly long  process. There were many times that I could hardly make myself go back and look at the house. I know things had to be done, and it was excruciatingly slow at times. If you have to rebuild then sometimes you have to tear down. That was the hard part, watching the destruction after the tree fell.  But brick by brick, board by board, shingle by shingle, walls have been rebuilt, repainted, re-insulated. New wooden floors were laid. We are finally almost ready to go home. It is very exciting for us. I hope to have a few pictures soon.

In the meantime, I want to share a few things I have been working on trying to pass the weeks waiting to go home.

Remember the Bama Bound Quilt Project, well, I made just one more quick quilt. I used a fabric bundle from FabricWorm and one of my favorite quilt pattern from Amy At A Commonplace Life,  it’s  the Roundabout Quilt Pattern. It’s so fun.

I really love this pattern. Here is the back:

Label:

Got into a little scrap with this corner of the binding, I did not win.

I really love the back.

Let me just show you a little peek of the animals I have been knitting like a mad woman.

These patterns all come from Barbara Prime. Her patterns are adorable! The best part is that you work on each piece one by one. Perfect for watching tv after a long day of work. It’s a leg here, an arm there, before you know it you are ready to assemble. My daughter loves each one, so I guess that is a good indication for how darn cute they are.

Well, this is what I’ve been up to lately. Hope you all are enjoying your summer. I am ready to hurry up and get home and get my kitchen gear back in use. I really miss my  “no knead”  bread, home-made pizza, and my green smoothies. Why did I let them pack up all of my things? I guess it will be that much sweeter when I get home.

*** Another time suck? Pinterest. Do you do it? So fun, but it is a time killer.

~My wish for you~

If your days are dark, may your path lead to light.

If your days are cold, may your path find warmth.

If illness is upon you, may your path lead to wellness.

If you have lost your way, may your path lead you home.

May you always see the beauty, remember the wonder and always have a friend.

At the end of each day I wish for you peace and love.

I hope this  new year is for you all that you need it to be.

~Advent in our home~

This year I wanted to introduce advent to my family.  I love the idea of  anticipating the birth of Christ, the return of light through  Christmas.

We try to always eat dinner together as a family every night. It is our way of reconnecting and sharing our day’s events.

So it just seemed logical to create our advent on our dinner table.  This was my inspiration~ and it just worked perfectly for our family. Once we get our tree I will add some of the trimmings to our tray.

  ~ week one  Mineral~

This first week my family really is enjoying this process and I know this will be a new tradition for us…

Remember it is never too late to learn a new task or to develop a new interest. If you think you want to learn to quilt, just go for it! It is easy, rewarding, forgiving and in the end you will create something beautiful.. what’s not to love?

~ a vision shared~

I recieved this email from my sister tonight, I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing with you…

i was in bed, trying to go to sleep for the night.  just as i was drifting off, i saw dad with robert.  they were both laughing and smiling.  dad had a big grin on his face….and when have you ever really seen him smile that big?  robert looked so happy too.  it surprised me so much that i bolted upright wide awake and i lost the dream. it was such a brief image because i woke up as soon as i saw them.  i wasn’t sure if it was really real or if it was something my mind made up because i wanted to see it.  all i know is that when i woke up, i looked at the clock and it was 10:15pm on monday night.  somehow it made me feel better, even if maybe it wasn’t real, it was real enough to me…..

Monday  night was 3 weeks, he died close to 10:15pm. Unbelievable.

Now I am crying because I feel happiness and a sense of hope that he is happy and at peace with his son.

He is a Christian and  I know he is in Heaven, I do know all of that, but the earthly me has just been so very worried.. I feel like I have just been waiting to really know.. thank you A.  Really really thank you !

~these 2 little friends have been with me for 2 days now.. they really are friends, one looks out while the other drinks.  Then they fly just as high and as fast as they can. I know migration is well under way but I have really enjoyed their visit…

The day has come…. a March Wedding~
