~Sand and Sea baby quilt~

My cousin lives in Spain.   She and her husband run this wonderful resort. She is going to have her first baby within a few short weeks. We wanted to send a little  something to welcome their first son..

with images such as this, I had a pretty clear idea of where I wanted to go with this quilt.  I knew that I wanted to use Heather Ross’ Mendocino line, I knew I wanted a masculine feel. I wanted to include natural linen.  I wanted fabric that made you feel the sand and the sea.. I think that is what I achieved.

I took my inspiration from here and here.
and here is the back.  I am pretty happy with it, except the back shifted some during quilting. However, the overall look is wrinkled crinkled and it will be ok.   I love the binding it is a pale pale blue polka dot and it looks like the blue blue sky.

I just hope Mama and Papa and little baby boy love it and are able to spend many hours sitting by the sea watching the waves roll in.

February Baby Sweater & booties done!

grateful4       ~ I am so thankful that this sweater is done! Along with a few other items I made for baby Mason.  Just in the nick of time, he is to be born in a few weeks! This is my version of the EZ February Baby Sweater. I used Plymouth yarn Jeanee DK in a lovely gray. I love the color.

~ I made a pair of T Bar Booties to go with the sweater, too cute!    I can’t remember the book’s name, but I will list it later.

It is not perfect, but I think it will do.

There is something so sweet about  handknit baby items!

Baby Quilts & Shop update!

~ Look at this treasure! I came across this in a shop and I had to get it. The colors are so soft and the little piggies are to die for!! They don’t get any better than this.  This quilt has been machine pieced, hand quilted. There is a display sleeve that has been added to the back. The colors are pink, lavender, rose, blue and grey. The binding is in the gray piggy fabric and the back is the coordinating gray. It is too cute for words!

~It is ready to go and in my shop!

~ I went ahead and put this little quilt in my shop  as well.
